Hunting Game only works if people can trust the players around them. These are the rules. They are part of the Terms of Service.

The short version

Play fair. Be decent to people. Do not put anyone in danger. Do not misuse anyone's location.

Be safe, and keep others safe

  • Never use Hunting Game while driving or cycling, or while doing anything else that needs your attention.
  • Do not trespass, enter private property, climb things you should not climb, or break the law to win.
  • Do not play in places that are dangerous — roads, railways, water, building sites, anywhere you should not be.
  • Do not encourage anyone else to do any of the above, and do not design a play area that pushes people into an unsafe place.
  • If someone is in danger during a game, stop playing and help. Call the emergency services if you need to.

Respect other people

Do not:

  • harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone;
  • send abusive, hateful or discriminatory messages, including about someone's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation;
  • send sexual content, or any sexual content involving a minor — ever, in any form;
  • share anyone's personal information without their agreement, including their location, address, phone number or photos;
  • impersonate another player, or claim to be connected to Hunting Game when you are not;
  • use a display name or profile photo that is abusive, hateful, sexual, or that impersonates someone else.

Do not misuse location

Location is the whole game, and it is also the thing that can hurt someone.

  • Do not use Hunting Game to track, follow or find someone who does not want to be found by you.
  • Do not join or watch a game to gather information about a player rather than to play.
  • Do not share another player's position, or a game's join code, outside the game.
  • Do not use anything you learn in a game to contact, follow or turn up on someone in real life.

Play fair

Do not:

  • fake or spoof your GPS position;
  • automate play with bots, scripts or modified clients;
  • exploit bugs, timing or cooldowns instead of reporting them;
  • get around Pro entitlements, or share an account to do so;
  • use a friend code or friend link for anything other than genuinely being someone's friend;
  • attack, probe, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to Hunting Game or its servers.

Reporting

If you see any of this, email contact@hunting-game.com with "Report" in the subject. Include the game's join code, roughly when it happened, the display name involved, and what you saw.

We review every report and tell you what we decided. There is no in-app report button yet — it is on our list.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

What happens if you break these rules

We act in proportion to what happened, and we take into account whether it was a one-off:

  1. A warning, for something minor or a first mistake.
  2. Removing content — a message, a display name or a profile photo.
  3. Restricting a feature, such as chat.
  4. Suspending the account, temporarily.
  5. Terminating the account, for serious harm or repeated breaches.

Some things skip straight to the end: sexual content involving a minor, credible threats of violence, and using the game to stalk someone. We will also report those to the authorities where the law requires or permits it.

We will always tell you what we did and why, and you can ask us to look again — section 7 of the Terms of Service explains how. Appeals are free and a person handles them.
